The process
Repurposing old jewellery is a creative journey. It blends traditional craftsmanship with contemporary design to create something that feels both fresh and personal. We work together every step of the way.
Have a look in your jewellery box. Once you’re ready to repurpose old jewellery, book a free consultation with me. We can start over Zoom, but seeing your pieces in person helps us dive deep. You’ll tell me about who you inherited them from, which gemstones you want to keep, and what metals and styles you love. We’ll talk through the story each piece carries — and decide how we want to retell it.
For example, I might reset diamonds from an old engagement ring into a stunning pendant. I can melt down gold from outdated pieces and repurpose into a fresh design. There are no limits to the creativity repurposing can inspire.
I will carefully assess each piece and test the metal for purity, sorting your jewels into non-precious, silver, and gold categories. Repurposing only makes financial sense with gold or platinum, but I can reuse gemstones from any piece.
Once we’ve decided on a direction, I’ll sketch several concepts for you to review. After your feedback and any tweaks, I’ll begin transforming your heirloom jewellery. I’ll carefully remove the gemstones, clean them, and prepare them for their new setting.
Using CAD (Computer Aided Design), I’ll create a 3D model of your new piece. You’ll see a highly accurate preview before anything is cast. Your new jewellery will then be 3D printed in wax and cast using your heirloom gold. Finally, I will meticulously set the stones by hand to ensure perfect balance and beauty. Once completed, your new piece will arrive in a beautifully branded box, ready to wear and love.
